1. Let's start today's thread. Vozpópuli reports “panic” in the PP because of the fear of a strong result for Vox in Castilla y León on Sunday. Tracking polls that politicians get to see but voters do not are signalling up to 15 seats for Abascal's party. Link

2. These tracking polls are another electoral anomaly that parties should change together. Why is it okay for politicians to have access to them during the last week of the campaign, and the media report on them, while voters don't get to see them?

3. Libertad Digital reports that Mañueco (PP) has requested help from Ayuso (Madrid First Minister), not Casado (national leader), for the end of the campaign in Castilla y León, with a speech and everything. Can Casado do any worse in these elections? Link

4. Europa Press reports “fear” in the PP, with people “on edge”. “They can't really believe it” They fear abstention, they fear Vox, they even fear losing the regional government. PP sources “admit several failures in the party's campaign”. Link

5. El Plural: “Ayuso comes to the rescue in Castilla y León with a PP panicking about the polls”. They report Ayuso has agreed to go to the closing of the campaign will even appear with Almeida. There will be a photo with Casado, Feijóo and Mañueco. Link

6. According to the latest "market" poll by @electo_mania, which they have just published, Vox and the PP would win a majority but Mañueco would only get the same seats he had when he called the elections: 29. All that effort to swap Ciudadanos for Vox. Link

7. Covid: here @cultrun asks a question I have been asking myself for several weeks as well. News fatigue, pandemic fatigue, the banality of statistics, not having reported better during the pandemic? Do we not care about Covid deaths any more?

8. In Murcia, with the latest number from today, we are either at double the number of Covid deaths that occurred during the first wave in spring 2020 or we are at 40% of the highest rate from last winter. In any case, it still seems like a lot to me.

9. If we look at the monthly numbers, it has clearly been a bad winter for Covid deaths in Murcia. And remember that for the February figure (in red), we are only up to day 11 of the month. Do we no longer care, collectively? It is not news? Do we not have to keep fighting?

10. Michavila, chairman of GAD3, on the radio: “If 2 pm turnout is below 33%, the left will govern in Castilla y León”. That would be almost along the lines of the CIS, which was the only poll that suggested there might not be a right-wing PP-Vox majority. Link

11. Mañueco (PP), with all the fears and panic and warnings about low turnout, calls for “an unprecedented mobilisation”, “massive support”, “turnout that gives a clear mandate” to the PP, “we need to concentrate the vote in the Popular Party”. Link

12. Does Igea sound like he wants to win, wants to govern, wants to do regional politics for the next four years? Is it the post-Covid effect or does he already sense he is not going to win a seat or that he will be alone in the Ciudadanos ranks? Link

13. I hadn't seen this yesterday. Replying to Ayuso (PP) on immigration, Abascal (Vox) not only xenophobically collectivizes immigrants again but also mixes in the memory of Ignacio Echeverría into his election campaign in a populist manner. Via @elmundoes Link

14. Article says PP considering not forming coalition with Vox in Castilla y León because “it is in the best national interest of the party”. Governing with Vox would make it more difficult for Casado to become PM. Wouldn't Vox demand regional ministries? Link

15. Cadena SER: lawyers in Spanish parliament support Speaker deciding not to allow Casero (PP) to change his mind at the last minute during the labour reform vote. The socialist-communist government's bill passed because of his one conservative vote. Link
